Speaking of Converse at Weddings...

I love Converse Chuck Talyor's but not nearly as much as my wedding planner friend, Saundra Hadley of Planning Forever Events in Evansville, Indiana. Saundra wears her Chucks with pride to all of her weddings. She probably owns every color available and is constantly on the search for more unique patterns and colors to add to her ever increasing collection. It isn't far reaching for her to have grooms-to-be request her advice on wearing Chucks to weddings. But I wonder if Saundra has ever seen this?
This Norwegian bride found a unique way to add her own spin to her wedding and to keep her tootsies warm by donning... wait a minute? Are those high top Chucks intertwined with lovely ribbon? Saundra, you're the expert. What say you?

Robots & Weddings

Yes, you read it correctly. Little Island has launched their newest creation, the Wedding Robot.

What Does the Wedding Robot Do?
I'm so glad you asked. Apparently, this little wonder can greet people when it detects they are nearby, it can respond to voices and even carry on a conversation! It's primary function is to replace welcome boards at weddings. However, it has spy capabilities and will reveal the groom's secrets and it has the ability to entertain guests by dancing to it's own built in music. It also features a camera, 80MB of storage, 512 MB of RAM, multiple servos and can double as a VOIP handset.

How Do I Get One?

Currently the company is working on creating an English-speaking database. But if you have $2,500 and don't mind your robot greeting your guests in Japanese, you can place your order today by sending in a picture of yourself. Your wedding bot will arrive looking like you and can even sound like you once you program your voice to it via LAN.

Tami's Thoughts
This is enough to make this wedding planner say, "Alrighty then!"

Robot Cake Toppers
Let's say you are geek chic but the mini-me Wedding Robots are simply too much for you. How about a smaller more subtle touch by adding a little hardware to your cake design. The Builder's Studio on Etsy has created a unique alternative for those couples whose wedding theme leans more towards industrial. There are seven designs to choose from with more on the way. You can also custom order your wedding cake robot toppers to reflect your personalities and wedding style.

Italian Wedding Bells for Jake Gyllenhaal & Reese Witherspoon?

I am a HUGE fan of Reese Witherspoon. I have been following her career ever since I first saw her in the movie Freeway with Kiefer Sutherland and Bokeem Woodbine where she played a feisty no-nonsense teen who took down the "Big Bad Wolf".

It seems that her no-nonsense demeanor also played true in real life. She turned down two proposals from boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal before finally accepting in the earlier part of this year. Therefore, I was thrilled to read this report yesterday on Just Jared:

Jake Gyllenhaal gives one of the biggest smiles of the week as he departs LAX airport in Los Angeles on Monday (April 27).

It's too early to tell but the 28-year-old actor will reportedly be heading to Italy during the second weekend in May.

Italy seems to be a hot spot for weddings. It was only yesterday that the news announced the nuptials of Salma Hayek to French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault
in Venice.

Perhaps Reese will finally grant Jake's wishes and make him an honest man.

In the meantime, I leave you with this:
"L'amore e un viaggio, non una meta" = "Love is a journey not a destination"
